Crossed Keys Estate
Crossed Keys Estate, a full-service wedding venue, approached Blue Ridge Timberwrights in early 2018. Weddings have been hosted on the historic 20+ acre site in Andover, NJ, since 1999. However, events were limited due to the seasonal elements without a protected area under the roof. Wanting to expand their event business, they saw the potential of extending the year-round venue bookings.
Previously all events and weddings needed to fit into the wedding season of May thru September and were subject to inclement weather with only a tent as Plan B. Finally, in 2020, the luxurious, expansive farmhouse space was complete and ready to be the backdrop of hundreds of memories.
Over 350 Douglas Fir timbers and glulams frame the gorgeous 47’x77′ space. Douglas Fir was selected for this project because it has excellent engineering values and can span longer with smaller pieces. It also can be harvested in extremely long lengths and large cross-sections.
The expansive window wall at the end of the banquet hall features a post that is over 40′ tall. Now the interior temperature of the space can be kept consistently comfortable year-round by employing energy-efficient structural insulated panels as the exterior shell.
Crossed Keys Estate is a historic estate wedding venue with stunning gardens, a romantic open-air tent, & a sophisticated white farmhouse located just 1 hour from New York City, in Andover, New Jersey.
